Strawberry Hill offers a certified preschool program taught by teachers licensed in Early Childhood Education. Programs are offered for 4 year old students. For more information about the program, please call the Strawberry Hill Office (462-3549).
4 Year Old Half Day Program
Strawberry Hill Elementary has received the state Voluntary Preschool Grant so there is no tuition charged for the 4 year old preschool program. The fees are paid entirely by grant money. The program is offered on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. There are two sessions:
- 8:20-11:25
- 12:10-3:15
Students must be 4 years of age by September 15th. The 4 year-old program focuses on social development, but also works toward development of basic pre-academic skills as children are prepared to enter kindergarten.
Skills introduced throughout the year include:
- Writing names, letters and numbers
- Alphabet recognition
- Phonemic awareness
- Counting and number recognition
There is NO PRESCHOOL on WEDNESDAYS to provide our teachers time for professional development and planning.
