Code No.: 507.8
STUDENT PROGRESS REPORTS
Policy: Students will receive a progress report at the end of each nine-week grading period.
Students, who are doing poorly, and their parents/guardians, are notified prior to the end of the
semester in order to have an opportunity to improve their grade. The board encourages the
notification of students who have made marked improvement prior to the end of the semester.
Student progress reports shall meet the following objectives.
1. To inform parents/guardians of the progress made by their children.
2. To give parents/guardians a better understanding of the work of the school.
3. To record for students their growth and achievement.
4. To help students evaluate their own growth and achievement.
5. To assist in establishing a cooperative effort among students, parents/guardians,
and the District personnel.
Parent-teacher conferences will be held at least twice annually as cited in the district calendar at
the elementary and middle school to keep the parents/guardians informed. The conferences at
the high school are not individually scheduled.
Parents/guardians, teachers, or principals may request a conference for students in grades
kindergarten through twelve in addition to the scheduled conference time. Parents/guardians
and students are encouraged to discuss the student’s progress or other matters with the student’s
teacher.
