EVALUATION
Purpose: To provide guidelines for the evaluation of the Principals.
Policy: The Superintendent shall conduct an ongoing process of evaluating the Principals on their skills, abilities, and competence as per School Administrator’s of Iowa (SAI) State Standards and Criteria. Each administrator will be formally evaluated annually. The goals of the formal evaluation process are to ensure the education program for the students is carried out, promote growth in effective administrative leadership, clarify the Principal’s role as defined by the Board and the Superintendent, ascertain areas in need of improvement, clarify immediate priorities and align with the goals and priorities of the Board.
This policy supports and does not preclude the ongoing informal evaluation of the Principal’s skills, abilities and competence.
