COMMITTEES
Purpose: To provide guidelines for the appointment and role of committees.
Policy: Whenever it seems advisable, a special committee shall be appointed by the President or elected by the Board to investigate a specific situation or problem and to report to the Board.
Temporary committees shall be considered dissolved when their final reports are made to the Board.
The Superintendent shall be an ex-officio member of all special committees except those dealing with his own status.
The Board shall welcome the advice and counsel of citizens in the planning and operation of the District, and special citizen committees may be appointed by the President or elected by the Board from time to time.
All reports and recommendations shall be advisory in nature with final decision making authority retained by the Board.
The Board may also appoint standing committees, on an annual basis, as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent and Board. Such standing committees shall include the Superintendent, or his/her designee, and Board representation as a part of the membership make-up of such committees. Standing committees shall function as advisory committees for the Superintendent and Board.
The Board retains final authority regarding all standing committees. Such standing committees may include, but not be limited to, the following: CADRE, Policy, Negotiations, Budget, Physical Plant and Equipment (PPEL), Technology, and Ad Hoc Building/Long-Range Planning.
