CLASS SIZE
Policy: Class size for special education students is established by state statute, the Area
Education Agency, and the district special education plan.
The District will actively pursue a class size goal of 25 students for every one regular education
teacher. The attainment of this goal will be impacted by available money from the federal
government, state government, and local means in order to finance additional staff for these
grade levels.
It is the responsibility of the Superintendent to make a recommendation to the board on class size
based upon the financial condition of the school district, the qualifications of and number of
licensed employees, and other factors deemed relevant to the board.
