Dear Parents & Guardians,
For many of our district’s families and staff we respect that life has taken many twists and turns with a Pandemic and Derecho. Families may apply for Free/Reduced Meals at any time throughout the school year. A new application must be completed each year, unless your student was Directly Certified. Applications are available on the school website.
Since the beginning of closures in March we have served over 60,000 free meals to local children. Your Nutritional Services Staff is passionate about returning to school to provide your students with hot nutritious meals. We will be able to provide meals to all students learning in our buildings and those students learning. Meal charges will apply as normal based on the students current eligibility.
Here is what school meals will look like in each building:
Elementary:
Students will enter the building at the assigned door, and breakfast will be delivered to the classroom. The breakfast menu is posted on the school website.
Lunch will be a normal “hot school lunch”, the lunches we provide are delicious, nutritious, and familiar to you students! These meals will be delivered to the student’s classroom.
Middle School:
Breakfast-Morning
Students will enter through their assigned door, once the Raider RoundUp teacher will ask who would like breakfast and it will be delivered to the classroom.
Breakfast-Afternoon, students should pick up their breakfast to take home after school.
Lunch-Morning
Students will be served a “regular hot lunch” which will include a main entree, grain, fruit, vegetable and milk in the classroom.

High School:
Breakfast-Morning students will enter the building, go to the kitchen and grab their breakfast to take to the classroom.
Breakfast-Afternoon, students should sign up on google doc to pick up their breakfast to take home after school.
Lunch-Morning students will go to the kitchen and grab their meal to take home with them.
Lunch-Afternoon, students will enter the building, go to the kitchen and grab their lunch to take to the classroom.
Continuous Learning Students-Grab & Go Meals:
Any student or parent may pick up meals on Tuesday & Thursdays at Anamosa High School from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm. This pick-up location will be for ALL students in the district learning remotely. Please sign up here.
Tuesday pick up will include: Tuesday breakfast & lunch, Wednesday breakfast & lunch and Thursday breakfast.
Thursday pick up will include: Thursday lunch, Friday breakfast & lunch, Monday breakfast & lunch.
Heating instructions should be followed. Food and milk should be stored/refrigerated as needed.
The district encourages students & parents to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of Covid-19 by not congregating at the school pick up site once meals have been picked up.
